Recently, Dingli Group sawdust biochar production line successfully completed a trial run, demonstrating the effective conversion of sawdust into high-quality biomass biochar through a controlled carbonization process.
As a common by-product of sawmills, furniture manufacturing and wood-processing industries, sawdust is widely available but can become a disposal challenge when it is generated in large quantities. Instead of treating sawdust only as a low-value waste material, the carbonization process provides a practical way to transform this biomass residue into a valuable carbon-rich product.
During the trial operation, prepared sawdust was continuously fed into the biomass carbonization system. Under controlled heating conditions and in a low-oxygen environment, the organic components of the sawdust underwent thermal decomposition and gradually formed biochar.
For companies producing large amounts of sawdust, a carbonization line can provide an additional approach to biomass waste management while creating a potentially marketable biochar product.More importantly, the process connects wood-processing waste management with biomass carbon utilization, helping companies explore new possibilities for their existing biomass resources.
